NowNet Arts Conference is an annual event for artists, technologists, researchers, educators, and industry professionals advancing topics in contemporary network arts for the ongoing development of the field. The theme for our 8th Annual Conference "Network Arts in Contemporary Culture" explores the medium in our current world. What are the artistic, technological, and social roles for network arts in contemporary culture? How can network arts works innovate international contemporary arts? How can network arts inspire technology developments and new cultural infrastructure? How can network arts connect cultures and create new realities of human interconnection? What are transformative qualities of network arts as a contemporary culture? The NowNet Arts Conference 2025 presents papers, panels, presentations, workshops, performance demonstrations, and innovations that explore how network arts transform contemporary culture, inspire technological advancements, and create new possibilities for global connections.

LOCATIONS
Presenters and attendees can participate in-person from hybrid conference sites or virtually from any individual site via Zoom. The conference takes place twice in 2025 to facilitate participation in different time zones. Registration is valid for both conferences. Contact the conference director for information on sites.

DETAILS
Softwares and hardwares for network arts will be utilized including JackTrip, LOLA, UltraGrid, VDO.Ninja, Zoom, Jitsi, OBS, and others. The NowNet Arts Virtual Venue is featured for performance demonstrations. Research papers are eligible upon peer review for the Journal of Network Music and Arts (JONMA) published by Stony Brook University.
